velvet+spikes

Today I wore a hat from Romwe, bodysuit from Urban Outfitters, Jeffrey Campbell spiked Litas and a skirt that I made from an old velvet dress. Yesterday I dyed my hair with a mix of a blue and purple dye I had lying around. It feels nice to have my hair be a color I wanted after being in the stage of having my last color wash out and the orange underneath starting to peak through. At first it was kind of pretty and looked almost iridescent, like hair a unicorn should have. I wish I would have taken a few pictures before it faded into something less appealing. I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I'm off to fight the Sunday blues with some much needed Netflix-in-bed time.

hello, lover

I've been wanting a pair of Spike Litas since January, but after rent and gas and groceries and all of the stupid crap I buy, I never really had the $200 or so to drop on these. After a couple of months I pretty much gave up on them. I figured by the time I had the money there would be some new, ridiculous thing that I couldn't resist. Then last week, Nasty Gal had a 30% off sale on all Litas and my greedy little finger clicked "add to tote" before I could reason with myself. Heaven knows this one can't resist a sale.

ombre jeans

Today I'm wearing this cool bandage, courtesy of a work accident! I crushed my finger in a pneumatic press on Tuesday. One of my coworkers rushed me to the emergency room and it was all very bloody and over the top. I was convinced that I was going to lose my finger and I would never sew or craft or LOVE AGAIN because it looked all smushed and nasty and freaky. Turns out I was very lucky (and a little dramatic) and only sustained minor nerve and tendon damage and some burst blood vessels. I can't sew or dye my hair for a few weeks, but honestly, I'm just glad I still have my finger.
